First post -- the start of a journey

This is my first post, in my first blog. Not completely sure why I'm doing this. I've had on my heart a number of thoughts/ideas/etc on various subjects, thoughts that I believe that God has given me. And I believe that He has given them to me for a purpose. I'm currently in the process of trying to discover that purpose -- or should rather say, to discover more specifically how I should be carrying out some of the things that He has put in my heart.

I guess this is just a way to "start now", to "begin where I'm at" -- to set my hand to what is available to me now. Even if it just ends up being God and my wife who reads this, I believe going through this process, as a step of faith, will ultimately help lead me to the answers I'm looking for.

For anyone else who may be reading this -- and care -- be looking for more thoughts on subjects such as
  • discovering God's will and purpose
  • marriage and parenting
  • budgeting and personal finances, and mistakes that go along with that
  • homeschooling
  • health and alternative treatments
  • developing a business and building wealth
  • being successful

I'm a self-acknowledged NON-expert in all of these subjects. I (along with my wife) have more experience and wisdom in some of them than in others, and I would even dare say, more experience and wisdom in some of them than many or most people. 23 years of seeking God's will, 17 years of marriage, 14 years of parenting, 10 years of homeschooling 3 kids, 20+ years of (serious) personal money management and learning about finances and business, 10+ years of learning about and understanding health alternatives, with all of our successes and failures.

With all that, something good should come out of this. If anyone wants to take the journey with me, you are welcome.
